About Yoga in English

Yoga in English Berlin was founded by Anya in 2009. Our name comes from the simple fact that we offered the first English-language classes in Berlin (hard to imagine now!)

Anya is a senior teacher with 20 years’ experience of teaching and practice. She runs regular teacher trainings as well as several courses that stay true to the whole path of Yoga, remaining rooted in its rich philosophy throughout movement, breath and meditation practices.

Her classes prioritise a friendly, pressure-free environment with plenty of different options in which all students can feel included and welcome. She teaches mindful, breath-centred flow yoga to ease physical tension, guiding students to enjoy openness in the body and calm in the mind. 

She is a committed student of Vedānta (the cornerstone of yoga philosophy), Sanskrit & meditation

As well as her weekly schedule, she also teaches in-depth courses, private & company classes as well as advanced programmes for teachers

I continually return to Anya as a teacher

She is able to distill and communicate the simple essence of Yoga & guide students to presence with skill, ease & kindness. I cannot recommend studying with her enough
