✨ A deeper yoga practice
✨ Connection with community
✨ A regular self-care anchor
✨ Rich benefits of meditation
✨ A positive commitment to your wellbeing

What style of yoga?

Flow & Restore Yoga:
An ideal balance of energising and calming yoga for a relaxed body and a spacious, open mind.

Active vinyasa flow with long breaths will invigorate and lighten the whole body, unlocking its natural vibrance and energy, before we drop into calming, long stretches for deep tension release.

90-minute classes give us enough time for a full practice and a rich experience of yoga with a flowing practice as well as a long and rejuvenating guided rest

Who is teaching?

Hi, I’m Anya
I manage Yoga in English Berlin and have 20 years’ experience of teaching and practice. I guide teacher trainings, retreats and courses that stay true to yoga and its meditative, authentic meaning. My classes aim to be simple and effective and I know when to keep quiet! I prioritise a friendly, pressure-free environment with plenty of different options in which all students can feel included. Try a class in my video library or write me an email to say hi

Why join a series?

Having a dedicated weekly time and space in a group at the studio or at home gives you the gift of consistency. The benefits of yoga and meditation really shine with regularity. Signing up in advance means making a healthy, positive commitment to yourself moving forwards into the coming season.

How will it benefit daily life?

“Each class is pure nourishment for mind, body & soul
— Anna

You’ll enjoy both your strength and vibrance in the body as well as space for the softer, reflective parts of ourselves. Guided meditation will deepen your awareness into more subtle, quiet layers, enriched by ancient teachings from Yogic philosophy and mindfulness that tend to flow into the rest of your week ahead.

Each practice includes a mindfulness-inspired guided meditation with insights from yoga philosophy. Following the waves of breath, we’ll practise cultivating a warm attitude towards our minds, relaxing perfectionism to be with what is arising with greater ease. You’ll receive helpful guidance to drop into the practice as well as enough quietness to rest with yourself.

Meditation teachings have powerful benefits. Our thoughts determine the quality of all our experiences in life. As we gain more space around our thoughts, we are often able to find balance, get more comfortable with emotions, recognise habitual thought patterns, regulate overthinking and access more self-acceptance, grounding and ease.
I will be here to guide and support you.

Will I feel comfortable?

I hope so. It’s a pressure-free environment. You’re always free (/encouraged!) to rest and there’s no way you need to look, dress or be. You’ll be welcomed however you’re feeling, with however much or little yoga experience you have. Come as you are.

What will I gain?

You’ll be a part of a friendly community, meeting the same faces each week in a space where you can get to know each other and your teacher more than in drop-in classes.

You’ll have the flexiblility of being able to join online from home in case something comes up. By the end of the series you will have a deeper sense of connection to yourself from a healthy weekly rhythm and all the gifts that come from regular yoga and meditation

I continually return to Anya as a teacher

She is able to distill and communicate the simple essence of Yoga & guide students to presence with skill, ease & kindness. I cannot recommend studying with her enough

Thank you, thank you, thank you
— Leah

I really admire the work you do & appreciate your approach to teaching. It is very approachable & relatable.

I also really like how you encourage having a chat & a laugh. I think spirituality can have this cold / negative connotation to it - but your classes always feel very human, which is lovely.
— Paul

Can’t make this time? Or maybe you prefer a more active yoga style?
Our video library is available with many many recordings of our classes as well as shorter flows and fresh new meditations so you can practice with me any time

Your classes bring me so much joy & grounding

Each class is pure nourishment for mind, body & soul
— Anna
I love that you always teach with mindfulness threaded through
— Luisa
I appreciate how much space you offer during your classes. It is up to me, listening to my body. If I want to stay longer or change a pose, I feel absolutely no pressure or sense of ‘’I should“

About Yoga in English

yoga meditation retreat berlin bio anya.png

Hi, I’m Anya! I run Yoga in English Berlin.

Why the simple name? Well, I started one of the first ever English-language classes in Berlin back in 2009. So that’s what I wrote on the flyers ;) and the name stuck. I’ve been teaching here ever since.

I love the aliveness that yoga re-awakens in me; its ability time and time again to bring me back home to myself. Back to what feels essential. In both its beautiful teachings and on-the-mat āsana, I love the reminder that yoga seems to give me that maybe things are ok after all…

The style of yoga I teach is meditative flow with a focus on embodied presence, breath & awareness.

You’ll find a friendly, pressure-free, down-to-earth whilst meaningful approach in my classes. All levels of experience are welcome and you’re always free (/encouraged!) to rest and show up however you’re feeling. There’s no way you need to look, dress or be.

I’d say my classes are simple & powerful, with clear guidance and inspiration from yogic philosophy as well as plenty of valuable quiet moments for your own experience of yoga to unfold.

I run teacher trainings, retreats, courses on meditation & yoga philosophy, private and workplace classes as well as mentorships for teachers.

Hope to see you for a class or retreat - meet me by trying a class in my video library, exploring the site or writing to say hi

Anya has a beautiful way of teaching: sincere, clear, spiritual and mindfully concise
— Jon Meston, Founder of H2O Yoga Indonesia
Without a doubt the best vinyasa classes I’ve had in the city.
With an almost omnipresence in the studio, Anya makes a strong connection with the room and evokes a powerful energy within the room. The ebb and flow reverberates in the psyche long after you’ve left her class
— Liam McGuckin / BerlinLogs.com
The teachers here are amazing! They not only give incredibly relaxing and engaging physical classes, but also have a deep understanding of the philosophy and history of yoga.
— Rosa Lynley
The ‘Yoga Essentials’ course changed my life.
Anya introduces the different elements of yoga - beyond the physical, but the physical too! - in a really accessible, personal, and fun way.
I really cannot recommend her teaching more highly.
Thank you!
— Leah Morano
The classes are a wonderful blend of meditation and asana in a calm, lovely space. They always leave me relaxed and recharged
